Sadness but Hope

We returned yesterday from a trip to Ohio. We remembered, commemorated and burried my great-aunt Jean Zirkle. It was a pleasure to preach her funeral because of all the wonderful memories I have of her. She was not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, and spent many years of her life in full-time ministry. We are thankful to God of the heritage that he has granted us in his great mercy and we are remembering Aunt Jean today. It is good that in the midst of this sorrow we do not mourn as those who have no hope and we are reminded that God is a great God who is to be glorified. Even in this time we hear God's voice in Psalm 46 saying, "Be still and know that I am God" And His loving-kindness reaches to all generations.
